Manor of Ruislip in the County of Middlesex
The Court Leet and General Court Baron of the Reverend William Cooke Doctor in Divinity provost of the Kings College of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Nicholas of Cambridge and the Scholars of the same College Lords of the said Manor there holden for the said Manor on Monday the twentyfourth Day of May in the thirtieth Year
of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and soforth and in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety Before George Woodroffe Esquire Steward there
Whereas on the fourth Day of June in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight Michael Shordiche of Iver in the County of Bucks Esquire one of the customary tenants of this Manor did out of Court surrender into the hands of the Lords of the said
Manor by the rod and by the hands and acceptance of Samuel Nailor one of the Capital Pledges and in the presence of Thomas Spencer one other of the customary Tenants of the same Manor according to the custom thereof All those his twenty three pieces or parcels of Arable Meadow and Pasture Lands lying dispersedly in the Common Fields of Ruislip aforesaid held of the Lords of the said Manor by the yearly rent of one Shilling and nine
pence And also all those four Lands of Arable Meadow ground two of them lying in Marle Pitt Field one in Brown Field and one in Alderson Field with the appurtenances held of the said Lords by the yearly rent of one Shilling to which same Lands Hereditaments and Premises the said
Michael Shordiche was admitted Tenant as Heir at Law of Jane Rook of Stanmore in the county of Middlesex Widow at a Court Baron held in and for the said Manor on the twelfth Day of October which was in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty six with the Rights Members and appurtenances thereto belonging To the Use and Behoof of the said Henry Round his Heirs and Assigns for ever at the will of the Lords according to the custom of the said Manor Provided always and this present surrender is upon this condition nevertheless
that if the said Michael Shordiche his Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns or any of them do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Henry Round his Executors Administrators or Assigns the full Sum of two hundred pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain together with Interest for the same after the rate of five pounds for one hundred pounds by the Year at and upon the third Day of June next ensuing the
Date of this surrender according to the true Intent and Meaning of a proviso or Condition contained in a certain Indenture bearing Date the third Day of June Instant and made between the said Michael Shordiche of the one part and the said Henry Round of the other part And also of the Condition of a certain Bond or obligation bearing Date the said third of June Instant under the Hand and Seal of the said Michael Shordiche being the same Sum as is secured by the same Indenture and Bond with out fraud or further Delay Then this present surrender shall be void and of none Effect otherwise shall be and remain in full force and Virtue Now at this Court came the said Henry Round and for that the said Sum of two hundred pounds of Lawful Money with Interest for the same still remains due and unpaid desired of the Lords of the said Manor to be admitted tenant to the premises contained in the above recited Conditional surrender holden at the usual annual rents of one Shilling and nine pence and of one Shilling To Whom the Lords of the said Manor by their said Steward granted seizin thereof by the Rod To Hold unto the said Henry Round his heirs and Assigns of the Lords of the said Manor at the will of the Lords according to the custom by the said Annual rents and by all other works Burthens and customary services therefore due and of right accustomed and he paid his several fines did his Fealty and is admitted tenant accordingly
