Description |
Originally built by James Laughlin, Jr. in 1885, Dr. Pierre Wilds DuBose bought the estate, named Sydonie, in 1943. He and his wife, Gwynn Ewell Dick DuBose made the house into a dormitory for the Hampden DuBose Academy, a boarding school for the children of Christian missionaries. The house ceased to be a dormitory in 1980 and was eventually purchased by Dick and Carla Durante in 1998. |
